The Website consists of a public space, for the attention of the visitor who wishes to discover the Website, and of a private space, for the attention of the User.
This section describes the principles of use of the Website.
Life cycle of a book
An organizer creates a book and sets a contribution deadline.
A book consists of a set of posts, composed of a text and optional images. Posts are added by contributors.
The organizer sends an invitation to contribute to the book to any person of his choice, through the channels of his choice: email, SMS, Messenger, Skype, WhatsApp, etc. The invitation consists of a book-specific URL of the Website. Knowledge of this URL is necessary and sufficient to join the book.
Anyone who joins the book is a guest. A guest can view the entire book, except discreet posts, which are only visible by the organizer and in the printed book. To add his own posts to the book, he must become a contributor. The organizer is de facto a contributor.
After the contribution deadline, the organizer can order one or more printed books. He can choose which posts will appear in a printed book and customize the layout. He can allow any person of his choice to order one of his printed books. Payment is made on Monetico or PayPal. Printing and delivery are done by Flexilivre.
The book is kept for 7 weeks after the contribution deadline. Orders are kept for 1 year after the book is deleted.
The User who registers on the Website becomes a member. A member enters his email address and his password, to allow his authentication. An email is sent to him confirming his address. A confirmed email address is required to allow the management of books and orders and to allow, if necessary, the recovery of the password.
A member can organize a book. Upon invitation, the User who chooses to join a book becomes a guest and a guest who chooses to contribute to the book becomes a contributor. The organizer is de facto a contributor. A contributor enters his signature (a pseudonym and an avatar), which will appear in his posts.
Prior to his invitation, a guest may be registered or not on the Website. When he becomes a contributor and he is not previously registered, he chooses whether or not to register. A contributor who is or becomes by registration a Member is a “member contributor”, otherwise he is a “temporary contributor”.
Here is a summary of the user categories:
|Not a member||Member|
|Organizer (is a contributor)|
|Guest (if not previously registered)||Guest (if previously registered)|
|Temporary contributor||Member contributor|
A guest can view the book. A contributor, temporary or member, can add his own posts to the book. A member contributor can edit or remove his previous posts, order printed books and view his orders.
Use of the Website
This section details the use of the Website.
To register as a member of the Website, the User must:
- enter his first name, last name, email address and password,
- choose whether or not to subscribe to the newsletter.
The member is identified by his email address and authenticated through his email address and password. After registration, an email is sent to the member to confirm his address. A confirmed email address is required to allow the management of books and orders and to allow, if necessary, the recovery of the password.
- manage books,
- view and edit his data (referred to as his “account”).
The member agrees to maintain the confidentiality of his password.
To log in the Website, the member must enter his email address and password.
After logging in, the member remains logged in for a session of up to 24 hours. He can log out at any time.
The member agrees to log out after each use.
The member can unsubscribe from the Website by making a request to the Publisher, by sending an email to the address firstname.lastname@example.org or a letter to the address Reliez‑vous, 21, rue Sainte Geneviève, 69006 Lyon, France.
The member unsubscribe may be delayed if one of his payments is pending payment or if one of his orders is being processed.
Member unsubscribe results in his deletion. Deleting him results in:
- deletion of his data,
- deletion of books for which he is the organizer.
An invitation allows anyone to access the Website and join a book. A guest who joins a book can view the book. A guest who wishes to contribute to the book, to add his own contributions, must become a contributor.
To register as a book contributor, a guest must:
- enter his signature (a pseudonym and an avatar),
After registering, the contributor (if not previously registered) must choose to register or not (see Site description). If he accepts, he becomes a member contributor (see Member registration). If he refuses, he remains a temporary contributor.
- add posts,
- edit or remove posts,
- view and edit his signature.
Member contributor may:
- order printed books,
- view his orders.
After registering, the temporary contributor remains logged in for a session of up to 24 hours. He can log out at any time. When he logs out, he permanently loses the ability to edit his posts and data.
The contributor can unsubscribe from contributing to a book. It is automatically unsubscribed when the book is deleted.
The contributor unsubscribe results in his deletion. Deleting him results in:
- deletion of his data,
- deletion of his posts.
However, if he is the organizer of the book, his signature will still appear in the book banner. This data will therefore be kept with the banner (see Site description).
If he is a member contributor, the contributor unsubscribe does not result in his unsubscribing as a member of the Website. As a member, he can continue to organize and contribute to other books. If he is a temporary contributor, the contributor unsubscribe transforms him back into a guest.
The member, when registering on the Website, or the Customer, when communicating with Customer Service, can choose to subscribe to the Reliez‑vous newsletter. This newsletter is sent, occasionally, in the form of an email to the address of the User or the Customer.
The member or the Customer can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time:
- by clicking on the unsubscribe link included in the newsletter,
- for the member, by unchecking the box “I would like to receive news from Reliez‑vous”. on the editing page of its data on the Website (referred to as his “account”),
- by making a request to the Publisher, by sending an email to the address email@example.com or a letter to the address Reliez‑vous, 21, rue Sainte Geneviève, 69006 Lyon, France.
To organize a book, a member must:
- enter the title, image, description, suggestions (a theme and a question) and contribution deadline of the book,
- register as a contributor (see Contributor registration).
The organizer of a book is de facto a contributor.
The organizer can:
- edit book data,
- view messages for contributors,
- renew the invitation,
- edit or remove any post,
- unsubscribe any contributor.
A calendar of messages is prepared to the attention of contributors. The organizer is invited to customize, copy and send these messages to any person of his choice. Each message contains the invitation that allows to join the book.
Contributors agree not to broadcast this invitation to people whose contribution is not desired. However, if the organizer considers that the registration of a contributor is undesirable, he may unregister the contributor at any time and without notice. He can also renew the invitation, thereby making obsolete the previously broadcasted invitation.
Before book contribution deadline, contributors can add, edit or remove their posts. After book contribution deadline, only the organizer can edit the book.
The organizer can move forward or backward the contribution deadline.
Here is a summary of book contents:
|book title and image||Organizer|
|posts texts and images||Contributor|
The organizer is solely responsible for all contents of the book. He is the editor of the book and invites contributors to contribute to its editing.
Each contributor is solely responsible for his own content. However, if the organizer considers that a contributor is failing in his responsibilities, he may at any time and without notice:
- edit or remove contributor posts,
- unsubscribe contributor.
Before printing the book, the organizer agrees to check the contents and correct them if necessary.
The printing of the album implies the organizer approval of all its contents.
After printing the book, contribution deadline and album contents cannot be changed anymore.
The book is automatically deleted 7 weeks after its contribution deadline.
Deleting the book results in:
- deletion of its data,
- deletion of its contributors,
- deletion of its posts.
However, the book title and image will still appear in the book banner. This data will therefore be kept with the banner (see Site description). The book banner is automatically deleted 1 year after the book is deleted.
The contributor can contribute to a book until the contribution deadline.
The contributor can add posts.
To add a post to the book, the contributor must select a theme (a theme from book suggestions or the free theme) and enter the title, text and optional images of the post.
The contributor can edit his posts.
The contributor can view the entire book, except discreet posts, which are only visible by the organizer and in the printed book.
Texts and images are displayed without any layout. Layout is made only when ordering a printed book.
The contributor can remove his posts. They are automatically deleted when the book is deleted.
Order of a printed book
The organizer can order one or more printed books.
To order a printed book, the organizer must enter the layout parameters.
A harmonious layout of the album is automatically generated by the Website, depending on the nature of the posts and the layout parameters.
The organizer can customize this layout, through a “customization toolbox”.
During customization, the organizer brings successive transformations to the layout, from an automatically generated version to a final version. Successive versions of this transformation are not saved. If the customization work of the organizer is interrupted, voluntarily or accidentally, before the validation of the order, it will have to be started again (from an automatically generated version).
To order the made layout, the organizer must:
- check the layout,
- enter the delivery mode, delivery speed, delivery details and billing details,
- read and accept the terms of sale,
- pay the amount of the order.
The organizer's order confirms his full and entire acceptance of the terms of sale (see Terms of sale).
The organizer is solely responsible for his layout. He undertakes to check it page by page before its validation. The validation of his order implies the validation of his entire layout.
Payment for the order is made on Monetico or PayPal.
PDF file download
When the order is processed, the PDF file corresponding to the digital version of the printed book is available for download for 7 weeks.
The organizer may share a printed book with any person of its choice. The person must first become a member of the Website and a contributor of the book.
The contributor may view the shared printed book and order it, identically.
Orders are automatically deleted 1 year after the book is deleted.
A text is added and edited through a regular text input field, without any layout.
A text can only contain printable characters, belonging to a predefined list of characters and emojis.
An image is added through a regular image file selection field or by drag & drop.
The contents may contain possible errors:
- errors in the writing of texts,
- spelling or grammatical errors,
- errors in the choice of images,
- poor images, because of (without this enumeration being exhaustive): poor sharpness, poor brightness, poor framing, rotation or flipping, visual defects.
The Website does not detect errors.
Errors are subjective and may have been introduced intentionally, for example to produce a humorous effect. They do not invalidate a book.
Contributors are invited to notify each other of any errors they detect. Contributors, for their own content, and the organizer, for all content, are invited to correct them, if necessary. After printing the book, no more corrections can be made.
The quality of an image depends on 2 main factors:
- its size, i.e. its width and height expressed in pixels,
- its sharpness, a subjective factor measuring our ability to recognize the subject.
For example, here are 3 images built from the same original image:
Small image (175 x 230) and good sharpness
Large image (350 x 460) and good sharpness
Large image (350 x 460) and poor sharpness (exaggerated, for didactic purposes)
Image quality detection
The Website detects the size of the images but does not detect their sharpness.
Therefore, in the previous example, the Website will consider the quality of image n°2 (large size) as being superior to that of image n°1 (small size), but the qualities of images n°2 (good sharpness) and n°3 (poor sharpness) as being equivalent. Which obviously does not conform to reality.
The User is therefore invited to pay great attention to the sharpness of the images, particularly when they are obtained from the digitization of printed images.
When printed, an image occupies a given area. Its resolution is the ratio between its width (or height) expressed in pixels and the width (or height) of the area it occupies.
Resolution is expressed in pixels per inch, or dots per inch, abbreviated as dpi. An inch measures 2.54 cm. So, in the previous example, when printed on a 2.54 cm wide surface, image n°1 (size 175 x 230) has a resolution of 175 dpi and image n°2 (size 350 x 460) a resolution of 350 dpi.
For book printing, the resolution of an image is satisfactory if it is greater than or equal to 300 dpi. So, in the previous example, when printed on a 2.54 cm wide surface, image n°1 (size 175 x 230) has an unsatisfactory resolution of 175 dpi, since lesser than 300 dpi, and image n°2 (size 350 x 460) a satisfactory resolution of 350 dpi, since greater than 300 dpi.
During book layout generation by the Website, the space occupied by an image is calculated so that its resolution is always greater than or equal to 300 dpi. Therefore, in the previous example, the greatest width that can be occupied by image n°1 (size 175 x 230) will be 1.48 cm and by image n°2 (size 350 x 460) 2.96 cm. The result is simply obtained by multiplying by the factor 2.54 / 300.
Here are some other examples of the largest width (or height) that an image can occupy when printed, based on its width (or height) in pixels:
|Width in pixels||Printed width|
